Camp Virtues will not be held this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will resume our yearly summer camp for 2021 and look forward to welcoming you then! Wishing you and your family a safe and healthy year.

Dearest Camp Virtues Families,

You all have been in our hearts and minds as Covid-19 has swept over our community. We hope each of you continue to be safe and healthy during this global pandemic.

With the likelihood of large gatherings continuing to be banned in California through the summer months, we will need to skip this summer’s planned camp. We look forward to welcoming you for Camp Virtues 2021. So early next spring, check back at the Camp Virtues website for dates and details for next year’s camp. We look forward to a beautiful reunion at that time.

In the meantime, we hope that you will consider participating in our weekly children’s devotions and spiritual storytime that focus on a virtue each week. Please visit the “Online Baha’i Children’s Devotions and Spiritual Storytime” Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2564800367107536/ for the new Zoom code each week to attend the Tuesday gatherings at 4 p.m. Pacific time.

With all our love and prayers,
Julie, Joan and Qumars
Camp Virtues Directors

The purpose of Camp Virtues is to lovingly encourage the development of spiritual qualities in children of all faiths and backgrounds, and to help them build a strong moral foundation that will be the basis for a life well-lived.

At Camp Virtues, campers ages 5-14 learn about the virtues through story-telling, discussion, music, cooperative games, and arts and crafts. Each lesson is accompanied by a quotation from the Bahai Sacred Writings that highlights that virtue. Every morning starts with an all-camp assembly in which songs and prayers are said, as well as a closing assembly where campers from different age groups share with others what they have learned about the virtue of the day. At the end of each day, each camper is also acknowledged specifically by their camp counselors for a virtue that he or she has shown that day and is awarded with an angel virtue acknowledgment that goes home with them.

The cost for each camper is $125 (non-refundable) for the week. Camp Virtues is non-profit and is completely run by volunteers. Parents are encouraged to volunteer their time either before the start of camp in preparing the various arts and crafts activities the children will do, or helping to share a talent or skill they have during the week of camp (yoga instructor, art instructor, group singing, etc.). We appreciate everyone’s support!
